Just wanted to let you know that I'm 8 1/2 weeks pregnant with Baby #2, and very excited! I'll be blogging about this pregnancy at my new blog, which you can find here. Come check it out!

A 27-year veteran of Type 1 diabetes gets pregnant for the first time and blogs about it! I'm hoping that my experience can help answer some of the questions of other women with Type 1 diabetes considering pregnancy. Feel free to post questions or email me! *Please note that both pregnancy and diabetes can differ significantly from one woman to the next. Please take my stories and comments as an EXAMPLE ONLY and NOT as medical advice.
My daughter is pregnant with type 1 diabetes. What can she eat to keep her levels down. I'm so scared for the baby. Does this mean the baby will be born with diabetes as well?
ReplyDeletePrayers are needed for her and the baby.
Concerned Mom!!!
The fact that your daughter has type 1 diabetes does not guarantee that her child will also have it. I know of a lot of T1 women whose children have not developed diabetes.
DeleteI'm really not in a position to provide dietary advice for your daughter. If you or she would like to read about my own approach, you can visit my new blog at http://mewithd.wordpress.com, where I'm writing about my current pregnancy. But what works for one person isn't always the best approach for someone else, so she should really be discussing her personal approach with her doctor and/or a trained dietitian.
All the best to her!
I hate being diabetic. and being pregnant I keep bottoming out
